Julio R. San Martin, M.D.
Dr. San Martin came to the U.S. at the age of 10 from Cuba. He received a B.S. in Biology from Georgia College. He went on to receive his M.D. Degree from Cetec University in the Dominican Republic. His residency training was at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He has been in private practice since 1991, and came to the Haines City area in 1995. In late 2011, Dr. San Martin retired from obstetrics and is only practicing gynecology at this time. He is married with two children.

Edwin M. Salamanca, M.D.
Dr. Salamanca received his B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico. He went on to receive his M.D. Degree from Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico. His residency training was at the Catholic Medical Center, New York, Brooklyn and Queens, Inc. (affiliated with Cornell University); and Ponce Regional Hospital in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He practiced OB/GYN with the Air Force for three years, and had been in private practice since 1993 in Lake Wales before joining Heart Of Florida OB/GYN in 1998. He is married with three children.

Mark Alkass, M.D.
Dr. Alkass received his B.A. in Biology from Drew University in New Jersey. He went on to receive his M.D. Degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. His residency training was at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. He has been in private practice since 1995 and moved to the Haines City area in 1997. He received his Board Certification in 1998. He is married with four children.

Edmund Andah, M.D
Dr. Edmund Andah received his doctorate of medicine from the University of Ghana in Africa. He went on to complete his residency and training through Cambridge University in England, where he became a member of the Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Dr. Andah & his family moved to the United States where he completed a second residency at the University of Connecticut and became a Resident Member of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. His family then moved to central Florida where he joined Heart of Florida Ob/Gyn in August 2006. He received board certification in 2009. He is married with 2 children.

LaReesa Ferdinand, M.D.
Dr LaReesa Ferdinand received her bachelors degree in biology from Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She went on to complete medical school at Lousiana State University in Shreveport. Her residency program was completed at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center, a division of Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. She received her board certification in 2009. She practiced in the central Florida area and joined Heart of Florida Ob/Gyn in September 2011.

Glenda "Susie" Bailey, CNM, ARNP
Susie completed her Associates Degree in nursing in 1994 from Redlands College in Edmond, Oklahoma. She was a med-surg and emergency room nurse for some time, and in 1996, began working as a labor delivery nurse where she found her calling. She then returned to college at Florida Southern University in Lakeland, Florida, where she received her Bachelors Degree in nursing in 2005 so that she could continue on to Frontier School of Midwifery Family Nursing to become a midwife. She succeeded in finishing her degree in July 2008 and she joined Heart of Florida Ob/Gyn in October of the same year. Susie has 3 children.

LeAnn Long, CNM, ARNP
LeAnn Long received her bachelors degree in biology from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida, in 2003. She then continued her education and completed a second Bachelor's Degree in nursing in 2005 from the University of South Florida in Tampa. She then worked as a labor & delivery/post-partum nurse for 8 years all the while, continuing her education. She completed her masters degree and received her midwifery certification from the University of Cincinnati in 2012. She joined Heart of Florida OB/GYN in the spring 2013.
